Bouddhanath Stupa: An amazing place to visit in Kathmandu

You can reach Bouddhanath stupa by taking a bus or taxi. It’s a religious place. Thousands of people visit here in a day for a religious purpose. Bouddhanath stupa is dome-like structure, having eyes facing different directions. This place would provide you calmness. If you are a foodie, then you can find many good places to eat local food as well as a variety of foreign restaurants. You can enjoy the food while watching the view from the rooftop restaurants.

Pashupatinath temple

It is one of the greatest Hindu temples. It is also a religious place where you can find thousands of devotees worshipping the god. Here you can enjoy the aarti that is performed at night. People are devoted to Lord Shiva and pray to him for blessings. There is also an old-age home where elderly people who are alone resides here.

Kathmandu Durbar Square/ Basantapur

It is a historical place where royal families used to reside. Due to the earthquake in 2072, it was destroyed. However, it was reconstructed as it was before. You must buy tickets at the main entrance. Here you can find attractive antiques and learn about the place. You can find many street shops over there. And there are many small as well as large restaurants to explore food.

Swayambunath

Also known as as Monkey temple, located at the top of the hills from where you can see the great view of Kathmandu. Its also Buddhist stupa, you can see varieties of Buddha. Thousands of people come to visit here mainly in the occasion of Buddha Jayanti and Lhosar(celebrated by Buddhist people). You can directly reach there by bus.

Chandragiri

It is in the south-west of Kathmandu, surrounded by hills, from where a wide range of mountains can be seen. If you want to experience snowfall, then it’s better to go in winter season. You can get there through a cable car. There is a temple known as the Bhaleshwor Mahadev dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s the best place to visit if you are a nature lover.

Dhap Dam

If you love to hike then it’s the best place to visit, enjoying the nature. It would take 4 to 5 hrs from Sundarijal. You can see a wide range of mountains. Specifically, it is a dam to store the water. It is a project with the purpose of increasing the flow of water in Bagmati river during dry season.

Manichood

Good hiking place to enjoy the nature. There is a small religious pond over there. And on Janai Purnima, there would be mela.

Whoopee Land

If you want some refreshment, then you go to Whoopee Land-amusement and water park. You can enjoy a variety of water activities as well as thrilling rides in the amusement park.

Kathmandu Fun Park

It is also an amusement park. You can play a variety of games, enjoy the rides. You can go with your kids.

Nagarkot

People who love nature can go there to watch the view of sunset, sunrise and a wide range of mountains from a tower. There is also a picnic spot over there.
